The Stoney Stanton Heritage Group is a normally formed group
of enthusiastic amateurs, interested in the heritage of Stoney
Stanton.
The Group hopes that, over time, it can record and, if necessary,
protect the built, natural, cultural, archaeological, historical

Other points
The building behind the church used to be the rectory
and was owned at one time by Chancellor of the Exchequer Nigel
Lawson. A new rectory was built in the 1960s.
Stanton also has a small Methodist
Churchsituated in Hinckley
Road (it would be nice if someone from the Methodist Church
could update this page with some information about its services
and activities).
Since the building of the M69, several new estates
have grown up in the village. The Smithy Farm Estate, a development
of 81 detached houses was completed in 1995 by Tarmac (later
McLeans) and at the other end of the village, Jelsons have
built another, larger estate.
