STONEY STANTON PARISH PLAN QUESTIONNAIRE
The people of Stoney Stanton are being
offered the opportunity to have their
say about things that matter to them
about their community. By the middle
of November each household in Stoney
Stanton will receive a copy of the
Stoney Stanton Parish Plan Questionnaire.
Keep your eyes open and complete it!
In the recent months local residents have
regularly met to discuss and address a range
of issues affecting Stoney Stanton, forming
the Stoney Stanton Parish Plan Steering
Group. These meetings were open to all residents
to attend. Recently, the Group have developed
a questionnaire with the Leicestershire
Rural Partnership to address topics such
as crime, housing and traffic in Stoney
Stanton. The Parish Plan is a unique community
consultation process designed and managed
by the residents of Stoney Stanton. What
better way to have your say?
Why complete a questionnaire?
If you want to be heard you need to complete
this questionnaire! As a resident
of Stoney Stanton you can have YOUR SAY
on issues affecting YOUR village, who else
knows it like you do?
The following have kindly offered to act
as ‘drop off’ points for completed
questionnaires:
• The Post Office
• The School
• The Doctors
• The Hardware Store
Once all questionnaires have been completed
and returned the results will be written
into a Parish Plan document, with a number
of action points being identified. The Parish
Plan, and action plan, will then be looked
at, acknowledged and supported by 19 wide
ranging key Leicestershire agencies, for
instance the Leicestershire County Council,
Learning and Skills Council, East Midlands
Development Agency and the Primary Care
Trust to name just a few.
This guarantees
that YOUR VOICE will be heard by those
who can offer advice, guidance and funding
to develop these projects, delivering what
YOU want to Stoney Stanton, be it improving
play areas, youth groups or implementing
speed restrictions, or developing local
businesses, retaining local services
or maintaining local green spaces.
Are you involved with a local community
group? If so, for a small donation, the
Group are offering the opportunity to advertise
meeting dates and times. This money will
help with printing costs. Please contact
Victoria Bowers for further information
before the 3rd November.
All questionnaires are confidential and
anonymous. If you would like any further
information or additional copies of the
questionnaires please contact
Victoria Bowers
on 0116 268 9716,
alternatively, please
see www.ruralcc.org.uk where you

Plans from throughout Leicestershire.
STONEY STANTON PARISH PLAN OPEN MEETING
The people of Stoney Stanton are being
offered the opportunity to make a difference
to their community. On Monday 22nd May local
residents of Stoney Stanton are invited
to come to the Manorfield Community Centre
at 7pm to discuss their likes and dislikes
of Stoney Stanton. Once your views have
been voiced, and with enough local support,
the community can begin to produce a Parish
Plan for Stoney Stanton. The process will
be assisted by Victoria Bowers, Community
Development Officer for the Rural Community
Council, and offers a unique opportunity
to put local opinion into writing to be
addresses by local service providers.
Why should I help the Stoney Stanton Parish
Plan Group?
As a resident of Stoney Stanton you can
have YOUR SAY on issues affecting YOUR village,
who else knows it like you do? The Parish
Plan process is a unique community consultation
document designed and managed by the residents
of Stoney Stanton. What better way to have
your say?
A number of issues concerning the community
will be identified and addressed, for example
crime, safety and traffic, however, to have
your say you must get involved, especially
the young people of Stoney Stanton, come
along and discuss what you would like to
see more of in Stoney Stanton.
What’s in it for me?
After consultation with local people a
number of ACTION POINTS will be raised and
looked at, acknowledged and supported by
19 wide ranging key Leicestershire agencies,
for instance the Leicestershire County Council,
Learning and Skills Council, East Midlands
Development Agency and the Primary Care
Trust to name just a few. This guarantees
that YOUR VOICE will be heard by those who
can offer advice, guidance and funding to
develop these projects, delivering what
YOU want to Stoney Stanton, be it improved
play areas, youth groups, speed restrictions,
developing local businesses or retaining
local services or green spaces.
It is essential that the Group has a wide
and varied input from a range of residents,
YOUNG and OLD! The Plan can only work
with the support and involvement of local
people. If you would like any further information,
or you would like to help by becoming
part of the Stoney Stanton Parish Plan Steering
Group please contact Victoria Bowers
of the Rural Community Council (Leicestershire
and Rutland) on 0116 268 9716.
